The Dragino WSS-24 is an RS485 rain and snow detection sensor designed for weather stations and environmental monitoring systems. It detects the presence of rain or snow events using a corrosion-resistant sensing grid and includes automatic surface heating to improve detection reliability and help dry the sensing surface after precipitation.

The sensing grid uses Electroless Nickel / Immersion Gold (ENIG) treatment for improved corrosion resistance. The WSS-24 operates from 12–24V DC, communicates through RS485, and is directly compatible with the Dragino WSC2-L Weather Station Controller. When connected to WSC2-L, precipitation status can be transmitted to an IoT platform through LoRaWAN.
