The Dragino WSS-21 is an RS485 tipping-bucket rain gauge sensor designed for rainfall measurement in weather stations, hydrology systems, agriculture and environmental monitoring applications. It uses a 3D streamline tipping-bucket mechanism for smooth rainfall detection and easier cleaning, with a rainfall resolution of 0.2 mm and accuracy of ±3%.

The WSS-21 supports an RS485 interface, operates from 5–24V DC, and is designed to work directly with Dragino weather-station controllers such as the WSC2-L. It can measure rainfall intensity from 0–4 mm/min, with a maximum supported intensity of 8 mm/min. For WSC2-L integration, Dragino specifies a default communication baud rate of 4800 bps.
