The HKT PC-100 is a battery-powered LoRaWAN® Infrared People Counter designed for remote footfall and visitor monitoring at entrances, corridors and passageways. It uses a transmitter and receiver with horizontal infrared sensing to count people moving through an entrance over a detection distance of up to 8 metres.

The PC-100 supports bi-directional people counting, long-range LoRaWAN communication and remote traffic monitoring through compatible IoT platforms. Its camera-free infrared technology makes it suitable for privacy-conscious applications such as retail stores, supermarkets, tourist attractions and other high-traffic locations.

The PC-100 uses a transmitter and receiver positioned opposite each other to create a horizontal infrared detection path. When a person crosses the infrared path, the system detects the movement and performs bi-directional people counting. The transmitter and receiver can be installed up to approximately 8 metres apart.

No. The PC-100 communicates using LoRaWAN, allowing people-count data to be transmitted over a compatible private or public LoRaWAN network without requiring Wi-Fi or direct 3G/4G connectivity at the sensor.

No. The HKT PC-100 uses horizontal infrared technology rather than camera-based image capture, making it suitable for applications where anonymous and privacy-conscious people counting is preferred.
